Google today gave us more information on its Lens smart camera mode — and that it’s giving Pixel owners a preview later this year.
When you use Google Lens — which they referred to as “Lensing it,” during the show — you can look up anything you see, from a movie rating to the designer of a particular print.
Lens was originally announced at Google I/O earlier this year. At the time, it was described as being able to help the user understand what they were looking at through their phone’s camera. One example was using Lens to read a street sign in a language the user didn’t speak, or using it to identify a food they didn’t recognize.
